This policy explains what personal data TrainingWheels ("we") collects through our website, your customer account and our desktop software, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell personal data.
Data we collect
- Account details: your email address and sign-in details. Your password is handled by our authentication provider; we do not store it ourselves.
- Billing records: your plan, subscription status and billing identifiers. Payments are handled by our payment processor, and your card details are never stored by us.
- Licence data: your licence keys, plan entitlement and the device activations linked to your licence.
- Support messages: anything you send us when you ask for help, such as your NinjaTrader version or a log excerpt.
- Technical logs: IP address and request rate, used to prevent abuse of our website and licence service.
- Trading journal (later version, optional): a future version may let you sync journal and performance notes to your account. This will be optional, and only what you choose to sync will be collected.
Data that stays on your computer
The software keeps some records locally on your own computer, such as its audit log and backups. We do not receive these unless you send them to us, for example as part of a support request.
How we use data
- To create and run your account and sign you in.
- To process your subscription and keep billing and tax records.
- To issue, validate and manage your licence and device activations.
- To answer support requests.
- To protect the service against abuse.
- To improve the product.
Who we share data with
We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run TrainingWheels: our authentication provider, our payment processor, our hosting and database providers, and our email provider. They process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data.
Cookies
We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in to your account and to complete checkout securely.
How long we keep data
- Account and subscription data: while your account is active.
- Order and licence records: for the life of your account plus 7 years, for tax purposes.
- Journal and trade data: for the life of your account, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Email logs: 90 days, held by our email provider.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Residents of the EU and California have these rights under the GDPR and CCPA.
When we delete an account, the licence is revoked and personal details are removed. Order records we must keep for tax purposes are kept for the period above. Where available, you can also export your performance and tax records.
Security
We rely on established providers for sign-in, payments, hosting and storage, so that sensitive data such as passwords and card details are not held on our own systems. No method of storing or sending data over the internet is completely secure.
Business customers
If you use TrainingWheels on behalf of an organisation, our Data Processing Agreement describes how we process personal data for you.
